Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, fitted with the new Omega Co-Axial Calibre 8508; a movement which resists magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss, or 1.5 Tesla. Prior watches relied on inner casings to resist magnetic fields, however, this new movement uses non-ferrous materials in the construction of the movement to counter magnetism.
When asked about the level of magnetism that the watch can resist, Director of Research at ETA Thierry Conus stated “15,000 gauss (1.5 Tesla) is the limit of testing equipment; we don’t know the limit of the watch”.
