Artist and designer Diana Beltran Herrera creates stunning accurate reproductions of birds using paper. The fragile sculptures are a mix of private commissions and pieces for several luxury brands who use her work in displays and advertising.
Wunderblock is an exhibition of unusually constructed work by Berlin-based artist Katharina Grosse. Grosse is well known for merging interior spaces and objects to produce vibrant displays of vivid colors. She uses spray paints because she finds them less restricting and because they allow for a wider range of creation than a simple, traditional canvas. This installation, currently on display at the Nasher Sculpture Center in downtown Dallas, most prominently features a large space covered with huge mounds of dirt that are spray-painted with a rainbow of colors. Visitors are actually invited to walk into, on, and around the mounds and to fully interact with the art work.
